“The student members of the club felt that there were a lot of unique places and people around Suffolk’s campuses here and abroad worth photographing in an artistic way,” said Ken Martin, who teaches photography.
In addition to Phocus Club members, students in photography and photojournalism classes in the Communication and Journalism Department and the Graphic Arts Department at the New England School of Art and Design were invited to submit work.
Their images capture the essence of the campus and its people.
The initial Faces and Places of Suffolk University exhibit was displayed on the Boston Common during the Sept. 21, 2006, kickoff of Suffolk University’s yearlong Centennial Celebration. The Centennial year has provided a focus for the project, and the array of images has grown significantly since September.
