The Suffolk University Athletics Department honored members of its 13 varsity sports teams during its annual year-end banquet as its three spring teams advanced in playoff action.
Seniors Jennifer Ruys of the women’s basketball team and baseball player Jake Cintolo were awarded the department’s 2014 Alumni Charles Law Student-Athlete Awards, named for the founder of the Rams athletics program.

In early playoff action, the men's tennis team claimed a 5-1 victory over the Johnson and Wales Wildcats in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) semifinals play on Thursday afternoon. The Rams to advance to the championship match on Saturday. Full story
The Rams baseball team outlasted the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats 2-1 in 10 innings in a wild affair to start the Great Northeast Athletic Conference double elimination championship tournament on Thursday evening at Quincy's Adams Field. Freshman Matt Brenner (Eliot, Me.) knocked in the game winning run in the 10thinning as top-seeded Suffolk advances into the winner's bracket heading into Saturday. Full story
The Suffolk University Softball team defeated Emmanuel College 4-2 in the first round of the GNAC championship tournament. The fifth-seeded Rams will now advance into this weekend's six team double-elimination tournament. Suffolk is back in action on Friday against number four seed University of Saint Joseph. Full story
