Law Professor Russell G. Murphy’s groundbreaking new book Voices of the Death Penalty Debate: Citizen’s Guide to Capital Punishment was reviewed positively by John Farrell in the
June 3 Forbes USA online edition.
Farrell thinks the book could interest a wide audience. “Voices is not a dry, academic tome laying out the case for or against the death penalty, but rather a series of presentations of facts about capital punishment as it has been practiced around the country, with very personal recollections of victims’ families and defendants, and experts on both sides of the issue, speaking in their own voices,” he said.
Voices of the Death Penalty Debate: Citizen’s Guide to Capital Punishment both educates and challenges readers; even those firmly convinced of their position for or against capital punishment will find themselves challenged by its arguments.
Farrell commented “…as someone who philosophically is supportive of capital punishment, reading Murphy’s book gave me some pause.”
