Locked out NFL players have asked U.S. District Judge David Doty to put $4 billion in disputed broadcast revenue in escrow making it off limits to the league. They also are seeking $707 million in damages.
Law Professor Marc Greenbaum, who is following the ongoing labor dispute, commented in an Associated Press article that was picked up by media outlets including the New York Times, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, and Forbes.
"I think that the owners predicated a lot of their strategy in having a revenue stream for 2011,” he said. "If Judge Doty grants the players' request, an important part of their strategy is undermined."
