Professors Michael Rustad and Jeff Lipshaw represented Suffolk at the 10th International Conference on Contracts, held at the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, on February 27-28, 2015.
Professor Rustad, along with his co-author Professor Thomas Koenig of Northeastern University, presented their paper “Wolves of the World Wide Web: Reforming Social Media Providers’ Contracting Practices” on a panel entitled “Digital Giants Gone Wild!” The other panelists included Jim Hawkins from the University of Houston, Nancy Kim from California Western School of Law, and Joasia Luzak from the University of Amsterdam.
Professor Lipshaw participated on a panel entitled “Sacred Cows,” discussing his paper “Does Contract Theory Matter?” Other panelists included Victor Goldberg from Columbia, Shawn Bayern from Florida State, Robert Rosen from the University of Miami, and Mark Burge from Texas A&M. Professor Lipshaw was also part of a roundtable discussing a recent significant paper, “Contract as Empowerment,” by Professor Robin Bradley Kar of the University of Illinois. Other participants in the roundtable were Russell Korobkin from UCLA and Gregory Klass from Georgetown.
