The Suffolk University email system runs on Microsoft Exchange Server®. As the platform on which University communications are based, it is offered to all students, faculty and staff for use in their work with the University.

Infrastructure Group is responsible for the management of the campus-wide email infrastructure. We provide mail relaying, spam and virus filtering, Microsoft Exchange mailboxes, mailing lists, and more.

Microsoft Outlook® is the default email software for members of the Suffolk community who use Windows® PCs. Outlook facilitates the sharing of information, providing an integrated solution for organizing and managing e-mail, calendars, contacts, task lists and notes. Entourage® is the default for Apple Macintosh® users. Other email programs, such as Thunderbird or Outlook Express, are not compatible with the University's Exchange Server.

Microsoft Outlook Web App® (OWA or, at Umail) is the default Web mail for all students, faculty and staff. OWA may be accessed on any up-to-date web browser, and does not require that the user install any email software.
