Suffolk University Political Research Center Director David Paleologos reveals which counties to look at in trying to predict the pulse of the nation on Election Day 2014 in an analysis for USA TODAY.
Paleologos, whose Suffolk University center has been the polling partner for USA TODAY for the 2014 elections, took six close races nationwide and chose three bellwether counties for each.
"If you're monitoring election results Tuesday night, you may find that it could be a long and frustrating evening waiting for local election officials to do their job and post results," write Paleologos. These are geographic areas (usually counties but can be cities, towns, wards, precincts, parishes) that accurately reflect how a state will vote."
